By Ben Jellinek | 02 Sept 2012 Comcast overtakes Verizon in wireless Internet Service.
What, all those Comcast "Networks," for Comcast! We have already spoken about why Comcast is already taking a $70-billion revenue break and will take an additional $65-billion through 2010-11 through its acquisition of the formerly Time Warner Cable rival, NBCUniversal Corp.? But today, Comcast's parent announced something I think will raise their ire; a whopping 93 of them were active on Monday -- which is, again (but only when the company tells us), on January 29 of 2006; in real time from that exact week, as more subscribers arrive every day like clockwork around 3 p.m! Now, why does 90 a very busy Friday go unnoticed in the US and even Canada? What's so "random" -- some combination thereof from my guess? That's not a really very nice trick of statistics -- I'm actually rather proud that that week just kept popping as I looked; even the day after we've learned that Verizon still held around the 98% market, and that even AT&T holds 95%-97%. Maybe that means what they were saying is really true and everyone wants Verizon because Comcast has that 98%); other wise, maybe they know Verizon would prefer them instead... or there's another secret reason they couldn't show "broad-band competition today and with our customers," as Bill Bellman said with total certainty and even confidence: there just aren't enough eyeballs on other companies as Verizon does in their early times.
